The faces of a crisis
The conditions that the birds were kept in led to the need for their isolation upon rescue to allow time for communicable disease testing to clear them for future placement with qualified facilities, parrot sanctuaries, and rescues. They are undergoing rehabilitation and testing now. Even though this case did involve law enforcement, no agencies could offer funding for the care of these birds. Therefore, they would have been euthanized had our group of rescuers not collectively banded together to save them. SoCal Parrot oversees their care with the help of many other wildlife, bird, and parrot specialists.
